Hyundai Motor America - Flagship vehicle really shows the automaker's credibility
Purchased a used Equus from a dealership with an existing factory warranty in force. Drove it 2000 miles after the purchace and the transmission went out.
(42,000 miles) The dealership re-manufactured the transmission (3 weeks) and gave it back to me. I took delivery only to return it with the same problem 90 minutes later. They again re-manufactured the transmission (2 1/2 weeks) and returned it to me in better condition. 7 1/2 months later I voice my concerns of its sporadic problems re occurring.
They want to hold on to it for a few days and give it back declaring they have reset its computer and its working as it should. I again take delivery and no it still is malfunctioning as before. This is the $68,000 Hyundai they tout as their premiere car. I have clients in the back asking why is it jolting and bucking comparing it to the Mercedes counterpart.
Hyundai chooses to just leave it broken and for me to pay for a replacement. Now I have 3 of these vehicles and use them for a exclusive limo business. Also Hyundai was trying to sell these as premiere limousines to capture a portion of the livery market. I was not smart enough to recognize that the word Hyundai means cheap and not innovative.
Buyers Hyundai will not honor the warranty. ?????
I found this out after researching the genesis with the same motor and transmission finding this problem prevalent. Watch out
