HURRAY FOR THE LITTLE GUY!!! I just received notification from the court where I sued Huyndai Motor America because of my transmission warrantee they voided because I had my mechanic seal the crack before finding out my transmission had a mechanical failure. I have WON my case! Hyundai has to reimburse me for my out of pocket expenses, court fees and interest to replace my transmission. Thank goodness for Volvoline who volunteered to lower the cost for my new transmission. Hyundai has 10 days to appeal or to pay.

Yesterday 10/19/11)I had my day in court. A representative from Hyundai Motor America did show up. His only defense was that I had a patch put on my transmission case. He acknowledged that there was a mechanical failure with my transmission. We'll have to wait and see what the judge says.

Original review:
I have a 2005 Hyundai Elantra GT!. I bought my car with only 8 miles on it:. 6 years and 52,000 miles later, the transmission is no good.. The case cracked and I had it sealed'. No reason to believe there was a problem!. Took it to the dealer and they refuse to honor the warranty because I had the car serviced at an "outside vendor".. What a crock!! I had my oil changes and the transmission flush done at Valvoline, evidently this is a no, no|. From what I understand, Hyundai is notorious for refusing warranty service'. I will never buy another Hyundai and this is my fourth one. 35b26e4
