Our 2001 Hundai Elantra is a POS. With 80,000 miles (most highway) it feels and sounds like its about to fall apart!. Initial quality was good, but does not last:. My biggest complaint is the ripples in the door panels that apear when it is cold out.. When I contacted the regional head honcho about the rippling I was treated like crap and never got an answer as to why the ripples apear'. The cars seem like a good deal at first, but after all the trips to the dealership (I count 6 trips for headlights alone, that keep blowing out) and the constant hassling with the dealership, the cars are more headache than they are worth'. The cars are very expensive to keep running.. Should have bought a Toyota or Honda. 35b243f

:x Are you kidding me...I have an 2005 Elantra and so far I haven't had any issues from my vehicle. I bought it with 0 miles although it may not be worth the price. I hate you are facing these issues so early on I hope that Hyundai does what they are supposed to. My issue is that there was a recall on my vehicle passenger air bag and I took it to Gossett (where I purchased my vehicle) and I got it fixed...well they are trying to charge me for it! HA not going to happen....watch the customer service people they are CROOKS pay by money gram or checking account, cause other than that they process your check or money order 15 days later than when they received it and they will process the wrong amount........

I have been having the same transmission issues you describe. The Freehold NJ dealership tells me there is nothing wrong! I knew that Hyundai had problems with their standard transmissions, but that was 20+ years ago! I bought this car new in '71 and it doesn't even have 50K miles on it and in addition to the affore-mentioned, it is an electrical nightmare!

:(

I am very dissapointed witgh thier service and the fact that though I have driven standard Transsmission Cars all my life I have never had a car so new have issues with the clutch or transmission as I am having with this Hyundia Elantra 2006.

The Maintenance personell spent all of 20 minutes to tell me the clutch needed a part replaced that would cost me $1150 dollars AND charged me $ 50 for the visit! my car has 37, 000 miles on itand is NOW only 2 years old I am very angry about this charade of sucking the customers in and charging me for the pleasure
